Pot plants are one of the decorating elements in the house. There are many plants that can be used in decorating the house in the pot. It can be put in the front porch, indoor garden or in the outdoor garden in our backyard. Seeing it from many points of view, the availability of plants can add more beauty into the house decoration. But it needs to be maintained as good as possible to get the long lasting beauty of the plants in our house.
There are several things to be considered in caring the plants in the pot. Before planting the plants on the pot, we need to choose the pots first. It is to determine the type of the pot we choose depends upon our style preference and budget.
Besides, we need to make sure there are one or more holes in the bottom of the pots to allow the water to flow out freely. Then, the potting soil is also important in planting on the pot. It is better to buy the potting soil from the local garden center not from the yard to get the good quality of soil for the pot plants. The right plants will grow well in the right place. Some of the plants grow well with high intensity of sunlight, some of them don’t.
So, we need to choose the right place for the right plant. In potting the plant, remove the plants from its nursery container gently. Don’t pull a plant out by its stem. Fill the pot with the soil in the right mixture and set the plant on the top of the mix and fill in with small handfuls of soil. Make sure the stem is completely above the surface. Water the pot and let the plant settle the roots into their new home.
If your plants are settled, don’t forget to water and feed them occasionally. It is important to maintain the growth of the plants. They need more fertilizing than those in the ground. But the time-release fertilizer is best for the pot plants.
